About

Why this exists.

A public place to be seen, for people who are looking.

HireUs started with one blunt idea: people looking for work deserve a public place to be seen.

The inventory is people, not jobs

Most hiring products list openings and ask people to apply into them. HireUs lists people who are available and asks employers to write to them. That inversion is the whole product: a profile here is not an application, and nobody has to send one to be seen.

Organic discovery is not for sale

The board you land on is ordered by relevance — how well someone fits the board, how recently they confirmed they are looking, how much evidence their profile carries, and whether employers who wrote to them got a reply. Payment is not one of those inputs, and it cannot become one by accident: the code that scores a profile has no access to the code that takes money.

What money buys

Spotlight is a separate, labelled surface. Paying puts someone at the top of it and changes nothing about where they appear in organic results. It buys attention, never qualification — and it never implies we think someone is a better candidate.

The rules state the amounts, the reset, and what is and is not refundable.

Who pays

Browsing, searching and verifying a company are free. Writing to someone needs a live hiring post — a role you are publicly hiring for. That is deliberate: a message to a named person costs that person their attention, and asking a company to say publicly what it is hiring for before it sends one keeps this from becoming a place to mail strangers in bulk. Post as many roles as you have; each is charged separately, and boosting one onto a board is a separate, optional thing.

Candidates pay nothing, ever. Appearing, being found and receiving invitations are free, and anyone may back a candidate's visibility through Spotlight — including the candidate.

How outcomes work

A hire counts when both sides say so independently. One party clicking “hired” cannot remove someone from the marketplace, and an outcome is only shown publicly if the candidate chose to show it. Availability expires after 30 days unless it is confirmed, because a board of people who stopped looking is the failure every job board already has.

The numbers behind all of this are on the stats page.
